What is Water Activate Tape ?
Water Activated Tape, also known as gummed brown paper tape, reinforced paper tape, gummed tape, plain paper tape, gum tape, pressure sensitive dark brown paper tape, corrugator tape, paper packaging tape, box tape, kraft tape, paper tape and / or paper adhesive tape.

Gummed brown paper tape is used primarily in the sealing of corrugated boxes and is particularly effective with the rising content of recycled material in corrugated board.

This type of tape bonds instantly to both virgin and recycled surfaces, creating a permanent bond and a tamper evident package.

What is available?

Water Activate Tape is available in numerous strength, sizes and prints. Our non-reinforced paper Water Activate Tape tapes are available in light, medium and heavy duty from 1" to 6" and in kraft and white coloured paper. EX: non-reinforced 2 inch gummed brown paper tape. Our reinforced paper and fiberglass tapes are available in six different strengths. These tapes vary in the strength of the fiberglass reinforcement, as well as in the use of different adhesives for different applications. EX: reinforced 2inch gummed brown paper tape, 4 inch reinforced paper tape.

How is Water Activate Tape used?

Water Activate Tape requires the use of a manual or electronic Gummed Tape Machine or Automatic Tape Dispenser in order to ensure a consistent application of water to the tapes adhesive. The use of a gummed tape machine or tape dispenser provides cost certainty by dispensing exact lengths of tape every single time.
